Curriculum

Our highly trained staff offers a developmentally appropriate curriculum that is engaging and fun while promoting growth in all areas of development; social, emotional, physical, cognitive and spiritual. Daily activities are designed to invoke curiosity, encourage participation, challenge critical thinking, and instill a joy of learning. Curriculums included during the day are:

Literacy & Language Arts:

Zoo-phonics® is a Multisensory Language Arts Program that is a kinesthetic, multi-modal approach to learning all aspects of language arts, including vocabulary development and articulation. It teaches the alphabet, phonemic awareness, rhyming, and pre-sound blending in a playful and concrete manner.

Get Set For School® -Handwriting Without Tears is a handwriting program that uses music, movement and multisensory manipulatives to teach all the core readiness skills including crayon grip, letter and number recognition, number and capital letter formation and body awareness.  (PreK only)

Math:

Get Set for School® – Numbers and Math helps children acquire critical early math skills. Engaging and developmentally appropriate activities, manipulatives, and rhymes teach counting, comparisons, spatial awareness, patterning, sequencing, matching, sorting, problem solving and Pre-K geometry skills. Children also develop oral language skills that help them learn about and express math concepts.

Science:

Science and discovery is integrated into the daily curriculum with age appropriate materials that promote exploration and experimentation through visual, verbal and kinesthetic modes.

Outdoor Education is designed as a continuation of the classroom.  Studies have shown that “green space” helps to stimulate the brain in a positive manner, preparing children to learn in ways academics and “play” do not.

Spiritual Formation:

Strong human values are modeled by all staff and shared with the children in the classroom and in  weekly chapels  During chapel we will share stories from The Beginner’s Bible, and sing songs. Parents are welcome to join us for chapel at any time, the door is always open.

Godly Play is another form of spiritual formation that will be presented to the children. Godly Play is based upon the recognition that children have an innate sense of the presence of God. All they lack is the appropriate language to help them identify and express it so it can be explored and strengthened. The Godly Play approach teaches classical Christian language in a way that enhances the child’s authentic experience of God so it can contribute to the creative life of the child and the world.  To learn more about Godly Play follow this link: www.godlyplayfoundation.org
