Our highly trained staff offers a developmentally appropriate curriculum that is engaging and fun while promoting growth in all areas of development; social, emotional, physical, cognitive and spiritual. Daily activities are designed to invoke curiosity, encourage participation, challenge critical thinking, and instill a joy of learning. Curriculums included during the day are:
Literacy & Language Arts:
Zoo-phonics® is a Multisensory Language Arts Program that is a kinesthetic, multi-modal approach to learning all aspects of language arts, including vocabulary development and articulation. It teaches the alphabet, phonemic awareness, rhyming, and pre-sound blending in a playful and concrete manner.
Get Set For School® -Handwriting Without Tears is a handwriting program that uses music, movement and multisensory manipulatives to teach all the core readiness skills including crayon grip, letter and number recognition, number and capital letter formation and body awareness. (PreK only)
Get Set for School® – Numbers and Math helps children acquire critical early math skills. Engaging and developmentally appropriate activities, manipulatives, and rhymes teach counting, comparisons, spatial awareness, patterning, sequencing, matching, sorting, problem solving and Pre-K geometry skills. Children also develop oral language skills that help them learn about and express math concepts.
Science and discovery is integrated into the daily curriculum with age appropriate materials that promote exploration and experimentation through visual, verbal and kinesthetic modes.
Outdoor Education is designed as a continuation of the classroom. Studies have shown that “green space” helps to stimulate the brain in a positive manner, preparing children to learn in ways academics and “play” do not.
Good Samaritan Preschool is an outreach of Good Samaritan Episcopal Church. The Episcopal Church is one of the most open churches of the Christian Faith. We respect the dignity of every person modeling high standards of behavior and mutual respect for one another. We hope to instill values such as love, kindness, honesty and responsibility in your child as part of their learning experiences. “Chapel” will be held at least once a month with bible stories and music that reflect the values and morals we hope to teach our students.
